If I have a pamper evening planned it's something I look forward to all day; weather that's on a chilled Friday night with a movie and a glass of wine or a stressful mid-week eve with piles of work waiting to be done. I find myself doing these much more during the winter than any other time in the year, meaning self care on a budget is key with how often these happen.

BODY
A long bath is a must to start off the routine this time of year with a good film or a few Keeping Up With the Kardashians episodes on in the background. I've been using the Fancy Ladies  handmade soaps more often than not. These smell amazing and make your skin feel so fresh and soft after, not to mention they also last SO much longer than a lot of the soaps I've tried in the past.

FACE
After the bath I scrub my face then use the T-Zone Newtons Labs Nose Strips which come in a pack of 6 and do such a good job of unclogging pores, I only wish they done these for other areas of your face and they're only £1.99! At the same time I usually apply a face mask. Although I normally opt for a sheet mask, I often can't bring myself to put the coldness on my face in the inter and go for a peel off or mud mask instead. I've been using the Montagne Jeunesse Mask's most of the time on these occasions. They're affordable and leave you feeling fresh after. Although I can't say I've noticed any long term changes to my skin after using these they definitely make you skin appear healthier after taking them off. If needed, I'd also give my eyebrows a tidy up and sometimes do an eyebrow tint as well (using the Eyelure Dye-Brow Kit).

I have also found a new favourite night face moisturiser from Nuxe Paris. This is slightly more pricey than the other items but for dry skin, is worth the investment. A little goes a long way with this and it leaves your skin feeling so hydrated, not to mention you can really feel it working straight after application.

TEETH
As for teeth, I don't do this every time as it can be quite damaging, but if needed I use the 3D Crest Whitening Strips. I have an alternative brand found on Amazon in the picture which is an alternative to the Crest strips as they can be quite pricey but I find those are most effective in a shorter period of time although the alternative also works.

NAILS
As for nails, they are something I always dread doing as I'm possibly the most impatient person when it comes to waiting for them to dry. On the occasion that I do decide to paint them and have the patience, I use the Collection 2 in 1 Top and Base Coat. This  definitely makes the nail polish last much longer and leaves a nice shine. I'm never too adventurous when it comes to nail colours so a nude or light pink are my go-to's. Maybeline's SuperStay in 130 Rose Poudre is a gorgeous pink/nude shade and and Collections French Manicure White only needs one coat to cover so I often find myself using it all over instead of on the tips.

Booking a holiday at Christmas time was an interesting experience to say the least. Adam and I flew to Cyprus in the early hours of Boxing Day for 5 nights and returned on New Year's Eve. I can imagine traveling for 12 hours with a sickness bug wasn't the best way to finish Christmas off or to start a holiday for Adam but after an overdue nap and the longest sleep we begun our little Cyprus adventure.

We stayed at Club St George Hotel in Paphos. As it was winter time, it was between 13-18 degrees through the week and the evenings were still dark. The first day, didn't look so promising weather-wise as most of the things we wanted to do were outdoors. We embraced the rain and made our way to a local shopping mall after a much needed lay-in, eating a lot of good food and strolling around all the shops. We then headed back to the hotel dinner in the evening and had an early night.

The weather was much nicer the following day and we made our way to Paphos Zoo which seemed to be a very recommended spot. I went in excited to feed some giraffes after reading reviews and come out crying from happiness after petting a baby tiger (half due to a glass of wine just before half because that was my peak of happiness and excitement all at once). You'll see the few moments of pure happiness in the photo below of Adam and I.

We also drove up to the Adino's Baths and parked a 20 minute walk away (the roads were so bumpy it would've taken us longer to drive carefully than walk). The Baths were amazing and I can imagine would be a lot livelier in the summer time in the sun but definitely still worth a visit. On the walk back we went on a small mission to rescue a kitten on a cliff which turned out not to be stuck at all then explored a little more. The last few days were spent exploring ruins and Paphos town and eating a lot of good food.

Cyprus was such a nice getaway with a few bumps in between, it gets me so excited to go away again this summer looking back soon the photos...
