Something to get you in an autumn spirit

I found myself  mindlessly scrolling through Bloglovin' reading so many great posts and struggling for post ideas myself. I though why not just share a few of my favourite reads this week for everyone else to enjoy them just as much as myself...

  • Having started Uni last week I've been on the hunt for some Uni related posts and I come across Self Confidence at University and 20 Ways to Save Money At University which is much needed as money management or budgeting aren't my strongest points.
  •    I've been very much into baking since it's gotten a little cooler outside and this Salted Toffee Shortbread  recipe is next on my list.
  • These next two kind of contradict each other. I've been very into skincare this summer and when autumn started creeping in my skin completely changed so I've been trying the 'Fresh- Faced look' and this post come at just the right time!
  • Having said that, I've also loved a bit of a heavy makeup day here and there, as I can finally bring out the warmer eye shades -  this Charlotte Tilbury Start In Your Eyes Palette post put me in such an autumnal mood.
  • Since my boyfriend and I booked our Cyprus holiday, I've been on Pinterest trying to find things we can do over there and reading TONS of travel posts that it was hard to choose one. I've followed Megan on Instagram for a good while but her blog makes me want to pack up and leave to travel. She's a flight attendant and posts her trips on Instagram and sometimes on her blog as well and Her recent Girls Trip To LA post made me want a holiday more than ever!
  • Lastly, the stunning photo for this post comes from 'From Roses' post (Something to Get You In The Autumn Spirit) where she was generous enough to share some of her photography with her readers for them to use. There are such great seasonal images, so worth having a look at.
There are so may posts I come across constantly and want to share so I may have to write these more often!

I feel like when it comes to birthdays, I get more excited than those who's birthday it is. A few months back I started looking for something to book for Adam's 22nd but I didn't just want a hotel or Air b&b so I spent hours searching for something different that wasn't a 6 hour drive, crazy priced and was available on his birthday. I come across the Yurt Retreat near Yeovil which is around a 2 hour drive from Southampton. I originally found the three Yurts and a treehouse, but when it come to actually booking it the treehouse had been taken on that date and I found 'The Roundhouse Nest'. It was an in between of the two and looked incredible, I kept where we were going a surprise until we got there and it was so worth the wait.

Fast forward a few moths and we're now back from our two night stay and all we want to do is go back! Everything about it was incredible. It's a family run business and as it's so small you can see the thought which went into every detail in the house. The interior was decorated beautifully, there was an outdoor bath (as if the huge tub in the bathroom wasn't enough), amazing views of fields and a private outdoor fire pit. The photos barely do it justice, it was the whole feel of the place which made us never want to leave.

We spent the evenings by the fire pit roasting marshmallows, eating camembert and talking for hours and hours with a few drinks our hands. In the mornings a full English breakfast also had to be made (with some birthday cake on the side) which you can see in the top picture but every time we left for the day, we couldn't wait to come back again and get cosy with a movie and snacks in bed enjoying the evening.

We have already agreed that we're going back in the future and could.t recommend it more to anyone. It was a magical stay and really set the standard high for any ideas for next years birthday!!

'A week in paradise' is the only way I can explain what that holiday was. Having been SO excited to go away with my boyfriend since the minute we booked it, I knew it would be an amazing holiday but needless to say, my expectations were definitely exceeded. It was a week full of incredible beaches, swimming, searching for starfish, exploring and food, food, food...

We flew from Gatwick on the 10th of July and spent 6 nights at the Grande Baia Resort and Spa in San Teodoro. We didn't have much planned as we wanted to see where the holiday takes us but it all ended up working out perfectly. We had a couple days to just chill and relax, soak up the sun and do a lot of swimming on the most amazing beaches. We also rented a car for 3 days and got to do a lot of beach hopping and exploring little areas wherever we went. We found some incredible places which you can see in some of the pictures and had a magical time! Spending a day in Olbia which is one of the main cities in Sardinia was such a good way to end the trip. Both Adam and I love touristy shops and exploring the local areas so thats exactly what we done. We probably spent around 8 hours there just walking about, eating good food, a lot of ice-cream and exploring the markets.

Sardinia was by far the prettiest and most magical place I've been and probably one of the best weeks of my life; so after getting back, both of us had the worst holiday blues. It made me want to book another holiday to look forward to and after some nagging and a lot of searching we booked Cyprus. We'll be going around Christmas time so December will be an even more exciting and magical month than usual!
