As I mentioned in a recent Life Lately post, myself and my family took a trip down to Cornwall for a long weekend away. We have visited Cornwall many, many times before and theres always something that brings us back. It might be the cozy towns, the sunny weather or the hidden beaches but it’s a place we always find ourselves returning to.

Each visit we always find a new gem we fall in love with and this trip was no exception. We arrived on the afternoon of Friday last week and checked into our lodge at Piran Meadows Resort and Spa. It’s a holiday park We’ve stayed at previously and I could recommend it time and time again anyone visiting Cornwall. The lodges alone are amazing but the on-site attractions and welcoming staff are what make the visit that much better. There’s archery, a spa, restaurant, a tennis court and more.

We first visited a beach in NewQuay which we’ve been at before but headed to a different part which was a short walk away. As you might see on the pictures along this post as well as on my Instagram, the beach had a small island-like cliff with a bridge going 90 feet over the sand and water to get to the other side; with a small house on top. Although we didn’t get to walk on the bridge as it was quite late in the day it's definitely worth a visit. We later headed for dinner and back to the lodge to play tennis and have a chilled evening after a five hour drive earlier that morning.

Over the next few days we visited the beautiful Porthcurno but instead of going to the Porthcurno beach as before, we hiked to the other side of the rocks and walked down to see a smaller beach. This was a nightmare to find but it is by far the most beautiful beach in Cornwall. The tide was coming in quite quickly so we wouldn’t have time to get onto the beach itself without getting stranded but just sitting up on the rocks and looking down on it from the top was something I could do for hours. We’re 100% returning and walking onto the beach next time we visit.

We also visited a few other beaches and towns but aside from that we enjoyed a lot of the time at the resort playing bowling, tennis and of course the bar itself was a necessity haha. We are of to Devon in just under two weeks time and head over to Instagram for more photos from these trips!

Having started a new job after finishing college recently also meant waking up at 6.a.m each morning and getting home just before 6.p.m absolutely shattered. Doing this five days a week means I treasure weekends more than ever right now…

Being able to sleep in a little longer and slowly get ready for the day has been so so nice and while doing that, music is a crucial part of the morning of course. I’m one to listen to any and every kind of music so there will always be a right mixture of songs popping up on this weekends playlist.
Although i’m not going to go through every song on there as that would take hours, I do want to point out a particular few that I’ve really loved throughout the week.

Ed, Ed and more Ed…

Expect a lot of Ed Sheeran. Although I’ve always enjoyed his music, his recent album made me fall in love with every track and I am so very happy to say that after a long and stressful 40 minutes waiting in the Amazon Tickets que online, this morning I was lucky enough to get my hands on some tickets to see him in Cardiff next summer. I know it’s not exactly soon but nevertheless I am over the moon! Some of my favourites from the album are Perfect, Nancy Mulligan and Barcelona.

A Throwback or two …

Some of my favourite songs are always the ones you can sing along to (not that my voice is great) so Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield has been very much on repeat this week. Another throwback has been Faith Hill’s There You’ll Be. Songs like these put me in such an amazing mood as soon as I hear them and I think everyone has to have a little sing along to them once in a while.

And more…

Most Girls by Hailee Stenfeld is another recent favourite. After watching the video, I realised the song has such a powerful message for a lot of girls around the world so if you haven't already seen it, it’s worth giving it a watch.

Harry styles’ Sweet Creature is a song I have been a little in love with since his album come out earlier in the year. It’s such a special song it puts you in such a calm mood it’s worth a listen.

You’ll also notice Blackbear on there who I recently discovered and love a lot of his music as well as some other songs from the current charts and probably a few more random songs that I’ve also been loving. There aren't a lot of songs on there this week as I definitely have been listening to these over and over much more than I probably should have haha.

My family and I always find ourselves returning to Cornwall sometime during each summer and finding  new gems around the area.  Last year we booked a little last minute lodge for 2 nights at the Piran Meadows Resort & Spa in a town called NewQuay. It was by far my favourite of all the places we’ve ever stayed down there.

During our time there we visited a small town which twas similar to the Brighton Lanes with the bright buildings and little colourful flags - Falmouth. There was also a harbour with the cutest boats and further down, an amazing beach which we stayed at for a few hours before heading back to the resort. We also visited another beach the following day where the water was a lot less calm and we watched the surfers while exploring small caves and gorgeous lakes.

While in Cornwall you also need visit St. Ives. It’s full of restaurants which run along the harbour and during some evenings you can spot seals and dolphins in the ocean. It's one of my favourite towns I could walk around there for hours. I have had the most amazing weekend away and I can’t explain just how nice it's been.
